Scope

The President Museum, officially called the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, is a heritage structure that houses memorabilia from various Indian presidencies. Our fire protection solutions are installed in all lift lobbies and common entrances, built with SCHOTT PYRAN S 120 minute borosilicate fire rated glass. The more challenging fire-protected construction was its main skylight which required to fulfil three criteria: 120 minute fire protection, post-breakage safety conformance and thermal comfort. This unique challenge required SCHOTT PYRAN S COMBI and SCHOTT PYRAN Platinum UL rated glass ceramic in combination with a triple-silver low-E coating (Solarban 70XL Clear from Vitro, USA). Post breakage safety by an additional inner laminated glass lite, with Sentryglas interlayer. This holds the record of being India's first 120 minute fire-rated installing in horizontal orientation. Our scope for the skylight included complete design and engineering, execution and certification.
